warped mind of mine

every day, every other moment, strange thoughts would surface...such as:
commercial for facial products -- "your love is gonna kiss that face of yours, pls have the basic courtesy to keep it clean, aka black-heads/pimple/acne free"
just to quote one...tell me I'm not alone...

just great, compulsorily flexible CPF (quote from MrBrown.com), more ERP gantries (even towards industrial area such as Kallang Bahru), higher rates, gradual but steady (and surely) inflation, stronger Singapore dollar (not really a good thing) and now, increased revised tuition fee for local universities. the 2008 budget would spare each family a few hundred dollars. so dun say government nvr take care of ppl hor~! but in actual fact, the reforms/revisions implemented will suck up more than what they give. and the money will be invested through some nation-run corporation and the resulting profits...eh!got give back to the people one ok! NEW WORLD ORDER PLEASE (shit, there goes my citizenship)

on another note, I hope they have higher subsidy rate for people who make it to the dean's list, and we'll see the day when everyone just dump all the CCAs aside.

with the inflation going on, it just doesn't make sense to deposit the money into banks anymore. seems like it's gonna force people to risk their money with investments or suffer the fate of your dwindling dollar. anyone can teach me about investments?

I'm hooked onto "Carry on Wayward Son" by Kansas, a 70's band, and chendol at Thai Express...the Thai palm sugar is uber sweet, uber thick...very diabetic. sa-wah-dee-kab~

every day is a Valentine's Day

if you're happily attached...

from wikipedia on Valentine's Day "...Until 1969, the Catholic Church formally recognized eleven Valentine's Days. The Valentines honored on February 14 are:

Valentine of Rome (Valentinus presb. m. Romae): a priest in Rome who suffered martyrdom about AD 269 and was buried on the Via Flaminia. His relics are at the Church of Saint Praxed in Rome.[1] and at Whitefriar Street Carmelite Church in Dublin, Ireland.
Valentine of Terni (Valentinus ep. Interamnensis m. Romae): He became bishop of Interamna (modern Terni) about AD 197 and is said to have been killed during the persecution of Emperor Aurelian. He is also buried on the Via Flaminia, but in a different location than Valentine of Rome. His relics are at the Basilica of Saint Valentine in Terni..."

well, on another note, here's an article on the most powerful armed forces in the world: the SAF ENJOY

小时了了

if we take the PSLE result, extrapolate towards future academic achievements and plot the actual results that I've obtained over the pass 8 years, I would find myself falling further and further into mediocracy. with no prospect of a scholarship and little school records to boast of, it makes me realise how little I have achieved in the 8 years when most other have grown, attained, blossomed. in short, I have under-achieved. or maybe this "小时了了" is just a delusion? could I have been in the mediocre band right from the beginning?

戊子年正月初一

this year is the year of the earth-rat in the Chinese astrological calendar. so what does it mean for me, who's born in the year of the fire-tiger(丙寅年)?
so according to the prediction provided by astrology.com,

Tiger Overview
The Rat year is likely to present more challenges than the Pig year, for you. Do not be surprised if you occasionally find you cannot get your way this year. In fact there are likely to be many of clashes of wills. The better you can keep your emotions under control, the more likely you are to achieve your goals. The Rat is comfortable with logic, not passion. You will have to carefully pick your battles, as you probably will not be blessed with many, good opportunities

whatever~ but i just wish for everyone to have a peaceful, smooth-sailing year ahead. and i so look forward to undergrad life
HAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

恭喜发财!
HUAT AH!
